30 Things – Traveling with a Football Team

9. 61 student-athletes
10. 2 of my 6 checked bags were 61.5 pounds
11. Check-in is crazy
12. Dickies BBQ Turkey sandwich FANTASTIC
13. Missing my wife – 10 out 10
14. Why can’t she come with me on these long trips?
15. Coach Wartes is glad I’m sitting behind him, more reclining room

30 More Things When Traveling with a Football Team
1. Keeling Standard Time (19 mins ahead of Greenwich Mean Time)

4. Our itinerary actually has a KST column and a PST column (Pacific Standard Time)
5. Freshmen haven’t figured out KST yet

7. I told Wade I had to have the window seat because I get air sick

10. Coach Shields will talk to anyone that looks at him, even if that person is a mannequin

12. It is pretty cool to hear Coach Keeling and Shields talk about the old coaching icons when they knew them

15. Kelly’s Dad is a pilot for AA, he showed me their cool pilots website

2. A private jet just flew buy us and I could see in the window… that’s was crazy

28. We’ve been flying now for 1.5 hours… “We there yet?”
29. Not as bad as flying to Amsterdam… that was 12 hours… don’t know if I could do more… Maybe fly to Europe then just take the train everywhere
30. Who would have thought over 100 years ago we would be flying in very large, heavy, aircraft??
31. If you look out your window on the left side of the plane you will see the Great-Salt Lake, we have about an hour and half left.
32. Wade got excited to see the lake… I’ve seen it… and I’m on the right side of the plane

50. We had a Coach Phillips at HSU – his blood pressure always was off the chart during football games
